I’ve always worn many hats.

It began on a summer vacation. I was 5, I think. It must have been a rainy day. There was a spiral staircase. And a balcony. I made stuff up. There was singing. And dancing. Some monologuing. I might have disrobed– very briefly! I began acting in earnest in high school, and after pursuing my interest in stories as a history and literature major at Harvard, got my MFA in acting at UCSD. My life as an actor has been rooted in traditional theater and developing new work.

I’m a long-time Associate Artist with New York’s Obie Award-winning Investigative Theatre company The Civilians, an Associate of The London Film School, and have been the voice and speech coach for Cape Rep’s Young Company (YoCo) since its inception. I currently teach Text Analysis at Brooklyn College, and taught a collaborative Documentary Theater class at The New School from 2018-2022.

I’ve written plays and screenplays, lyrics, and a couple of pilots. I have always loved to sing—and am as happy bringing stories to life as an actor or writer as I am when I consult, edit, or coach.

Random but possibly relevant facts that you won’t find on my resume:

Ok, move to the next paragraph if you don’t believe in Mercury in Retrograde– for everyone else: I am a Sagittarius sun, Pisces rising, Gemini moon. So, of course, my life is steeped in communication and emotional landscapes and travel and education. Why fight what’s written in the stars? Amiright?

I am the product of powerful lasting friendships, and am so grateful to the band of folks who’ve been with me through a lot– some of whom date back to play group! – or freshman year in college! And I feel blessed to work in a multi-generational, multicultural, business that continues to bring amazing new people into my life

THAT’S MY STORY. WHAT’S YOURS?

I was born and raised in Madison NJ, and still find myself defending the Garden State, and sometimes Bruce, (how dare you!), even though I’ve probably clocked as many hours in Massachusetts and New York. Truth be told, my heart is always in England or Ireland. Or Italy. I like Norway! Nevertheless, if you don’t know what a NJ Sloppy Joe is, we need to talk.
